Adult websites carry a search problem no other industry has. Google Ads is closed to most of them, Meta is closed, SafeSearch strips adult sites out of default results, and a payment processor can end a business faster than a ranking drop. Organic search carries the growth that paid carries everywhere else, so the choice of an adult SEO agency matters more here than the same choice matters to a plumber.

Search “adult seo” and Google returns forty-nine results before the well runs dry. Fourteen are agency service pages. The rest are Reddit threads, Quora answers, five ranking posts that name their winners and publish no method, three videos, and Google’s own guidance on explicit content. Each ranking post names a top five or a top ten, each calls the choice expert, and not one publishes the measurement behind the order. A cam operator, an adult toy retailer, a tube site and an escort directory all get the same list of adult seo companies and no way to check it.

This page publishes the measurement. The SEO Contextual Density Index scores five pillars against fixed constants, the term list is built by rule from the competitors’ own pages, and one script measured all fifteen agencies on 18 September 2026. ProStar SEO publishes this page and ProStar SEO is scored by the same instrument, at whatever rank the instrument returns.

The adult SEO market, measured

The adult SEO market is small, crowded at the name level, and unusually opaque. Five of the fifteen agencies measured here carry a version of the search term as their company name: adult-seo.com, adultseo.company, adultseo.org, adultseo.com and adultseo.net are five separate companies on four continents. Brand search cannot separate them. Query any one of those names and Semrush returns the head term at 2,900 searches a month, which belongs to none of them.

The keyword carries 2,900 US searches a month at keyword difficulty 25, which is low for a commercial term at that volume. The difficulty is not the ranking; the difficulty is everything around it. Age verification law keeps changing by state and country, payment processors set copy rules that marketing teams rarely read, and the link pool that would lift a mainstream site invites a penalty here. Agencies price that risk differently, from $1,297 a month at Adult SEO Minds to a $5,000 minimum project at Bird Marketing and AOX Apps.

What the fifteen sell is not one service. Some write adult seo strategies for tube and streaming platforms, some work subscription and creator economics for OnlyFans and cam performers, some do escort and massage directories, some do adult retail. Six of the fifteen name webcam work on the measured page and four name pornstar or creator search by that name. An agency that writes “adult marketing” and stops there has told a buyer nothing about which of those problems it has solved.

Seven of the fifteen run no findable Google Business Profile. That is a market fact rather than an oversight: an adult SEO firm often works remotely, keeps its address by appointment, and gains little from a map listing. The footprint pillar reports it and the page prints a dash for the review half rather than inventing a number.

Full tables below: the index (ten columns) and the characteristics (twelve columns), both sortable.

Why contextual density is the yardstick

Across the markets we have measured, the pages that rank carry more of the vocabulary a buyer uses than the pages that don’t, and they carry it as a wide set of distinct terms rather than one phrase repeated. Contextual density is that measurement: the share of a page’s words that belong to the market’s term list, read together with how many distinct terms the page covers and how often each one returns. A high reading means the page speaks the market’s language across the whole topic, which is the clearest on-page sign that an agency understands strong SEO. That is why we measure other SEO agencies’ pages on it, and why it carries most of the weight below.

Who shows up in AI answers

AI presence here is a countable figure: the number of US keywords for which Google’s AI Overview cites each domain, from the Semrush index on 2026-09-18. Nothing is scored from it; it’s printed because a buyer choosing an SEO agency in 2026 wants to know who the machines already quote. ThatWare LLP is cited on 208 keywords, Bird Marketing is cited on 193 keywords, ProStar SEO on 115. Bars are log-scaled, so a bar half as long is roughly a count forty times smaller.

Semrush “AI Overview positions”, us database: keywords where the domain appears as a cited source inside the AI Overview. A related figure, keywords the domain ranks for whose SERP carries an AI Overview, runs about ten times higher for every member and is not what’s shown here.

What you’d want to know before calling them

Nothing in this table is scored. It’s the set of facts the ranking pages on this query print about each agency, collected the same way for all fifteen and tagged by source in each column header: stated means the agency says so on its own site and the bracket links to where; public record means Google Maps or Clutch; a measured count comes from the Semrush index on the pull date. Where a fact isn’t public it says so rather than guessing.

Characteristics of the 15 agencies, collected 2026-09-18. Team sizes are the agency’s own figure; where the site gives none, the Clutch range is shown. LinkedIn ranges could not be read (robots.txt) and are not used. Gun Store Digital Marketing rebranded to Gun Store Systems between the measurement and this collection; the measured page redirects to the new domain.

How to take first place on this table

The runner-up, ThatWare LLP, sits 6.6 points behind. With every other pillar unchanged, closing that gap through coverage alone means covering 37 more of the 220 terms on the published list. The list, each term’s document frequency across the cohort, the measuring script and its checksum are on the methodology page. Any agency on this table can request a re-measurement; the result is printed, with the date, whatever it shows.

How to choose an adult SEO company

Ask which adult sub-vertical the agency has actually worked in. Escort directories, cam and webcam platforms, tube and streaming sites, AI companion apps and sex-toy retail are five different search problems. A cam platform needs facet control and performer pages; a toy retailer needs product schema and category depth; an escort directory needs a unique indexable page per listing; a subscription site needs a public tier the crawler can read. An agency that answers “adult” without naming the sub-vertical has not done the work.

Ask what happens to your payment processing and your age verification. Copy that reads fine to a marketer can breach a processor’s content rules, and a processor drops a merchant faster than Google drops a ranking. Age gates that block the crawler remove adult websites from the index entirely. Four of the agencies here write the compliance question into their service pages; ask the others directly, and ask for the specific policy they check against.

Ask where the links come from, name by name. The adult link pool is narrow and the cheap end of it is a penalty waiting for a crawl. A credible answer names referring domains, topical relevance and editorial placement. An answer built on a vendor authority score tells you nothing, because each vendor invents its own score and none of them is what Google computes.

Ask whether the agency serves the adult industry beyond one landing page. All fifteen measured here pass that test, at very different depths. ThatWare LLP carries adult as one page among dozens of verticals; ErosRank sells nothing else and runs separate lines for escort, cam, strip club and adult toy store work. Both models work, and they fail differently: the generalist may not know your processor rules, the specialist may not have the technical depth a large adult site or a network of niche sites needs.

Ask for a number you can verify. Every agency on this page makes a quantified claim, and this page prints each one as stated with a link to where it is stated. “1000+ Happy Clients” and “9400+ clients” are marketing; “72% increase in user signups” on a named engagement is closer to evidence. Ask which client, over what period, measured in which tool.

Updates: positions re-checked weekly against the live SERP; the full index is recomputed monthly. First edition of this page under index 4.0. The anchor keyword “adult seo” carries 2,900 US searches a month at keyword difficulty 25 (Semrush, 2026-09-18). The SERP was captured live on 2026-09-18 to position 49, every page was fetched and measured the same day, and no figure is carried over from the listicle this page replaces. The cohort is the fourteen agency service pages in the live SERP, captured with valentin.app on the market’s country (United States, the default), read to position 49, plus the publisher; listicles, blog posts, directories and dead URLs are excluded and listed on the methodology page. A top-5 page that can’t be fetched is measured from an HTML file requested from the agency, never skipped and never estimated. Every page was measured with cd_metrics 3.5.2 in whole-body mode. The 220-term list (built by rule from the competitor pages and the Semrush variation set, brand names excluded), the five weights and the constants (k = 10, R₀ = 3, footprint ceilings 10,000 and 500) are frozen at index 4.0; any change will be versioned here rather than applied quietly.

Reading the table

Read the coverage column first, because it carries the most weight and it is the column an agency can actually move. Coverage counts distinct terms from the 220-term list, not repetitions, so a page rises by naming more of the market and not by saying the same thing more often. The spread runs from 43 terms to 174 across this cohort, which is a wider gap than any other Whale market has produced.

Read efficiency next, because it is where long pages fall over. Efficiency divides a reference repetition of three by the page’s own repetition index, so a page that uses each term about three times scores 100 and a page that hammers the same phrases scores near zero. ThatWare LLP holds the second-highest coverage in this cohort on a 10,977-word page and scores 20 on efficiency, because its repetition index is 15.0. Search Engine Monkey holds a 824-word page and scores 100.

Read footprint last and read it carefully. Brand search volume is queried on the United States database, which favors agencies with US brand recognition and reports zero for the five firms whose names compress into the search term itself. Seven agencies have no findable Google Business Profile and are scored on brand search alone rather than penalized twice. ProStar SEO scores 44.6 here against ThatWare LLP’s 61.5, so the publisher loses this pillar to the agency it leads overall. The pillar carries 15% of the weight, so it moves a rank but rarely decides one.
